Step into a new, magical reality ~

Location

Walking along Newbury Street is a treat all year round, but one place stands out as particularly magical. That is The (Hope) Fairy Shop at 272, Suite #1. Prepare to be find enchantment when you walk up the stairs and open the door.

Welcome to an Island of Enchantment for all Ages ~

Visitors to The Fairy Shop are greeted at the entrance to the walkway by a delightful flock of bubbles when the weather is warm. In each bubble there is a fairy that leads you up the stairs and inside the door. The owner's name is Michael and his warm smile pulls in the wanderer to feel right at home. He enjoys getting to know all of the people who visit his shop, and if you become a regular customer he will remember you even when you have been away for many months. It doesn't take long to feel as if visiting the shop is like visiting an old friend.

Dragons and Fairy Dust

Walking into the Hope Fairy Shop is like crossing the threshold into a magical realm. There are unicorns with golden horns peering at you from cases and shelves to see if you are the magical human meant to take them home. There are wide-eyed baby dragons waiting for adoption by a kind young person who will play with them for hours. Colorful books about the types of fey that live in the fairy realm and how to befriend them line wooden shelves, and there are bottles of fairy dust to enchant your room and invite them in. If you are small and walk close to the ground, you will see ornate wooden doors to put in your garden, through which the fairy folk love to walk in and out at dawn and dusk.

Plenty of Magic to Share

Michael has set up a very open atmosphere in his shop and moving around in the space is a breeze. There are lots of little things that make the experience of your visit magical. Blackboards with inspiring quotes written in white chalk adorn each wall, a familiar effect that welcomes children of all ages to step into that magical place. Posters of characters and scenes from Lord of the Rings and Alice in Wonderland seem to nod to you as you explore the shelves and cases.

In one case there is a menagerie of golden keys waiting for visitors to choose from. They are keys to doors that are meant to open only for the person who owns that key. Who knows what gifts and treasures you will find when you take one home with you?

Not only are there unicorn dolls and dragon puppets, books, and fairy dust, there are also greeting cards, crystals, figurines, and sachets full of flower petals that transport you to a lovely personal flower garden from the comfort of your room. You may just meet some fairies there, and it won't be surprising to learn that Michael has personally sent them to you.
